How it works
At the end of drying the control powers the mechanism, which releases the latch and pushes the door ajar.
Signs it is failing
- The door stays shut at the end of a cycle with Auto Open turned on
- An auto-open error code
- The code shows up again after you've cleared whatever was in front of the door
Only models with the feature show an auto-open code. LG says to check that nothing is blocking the door before calling for service.
Can you replace it yourself?
Make sure nothing in front of the machine is stopping the door and that the feature is switched on in the settings. The mechanism is wired into the machine, so replacement is a service job.
