Refrigerator Error Codes by Brand
Refrigerator codes usually come from a temperature sensor, a fan or the defrost system, and sometimes from a door left open. Some are simple to clear; anything involving the sealed cooling system needs a licensed technician.

First checks for any refrigerator code
- Note the exact code and your model number before anything else.
- Unplug the refrigerator or switch off its breaker for 10 minutes, then try again. Many codes are one-off glitches.
- Check that the doors close fully and the vents inside aren't blocked by food. Give the fridge a few hours after any reset before judging the temperature.
Our refrigerator guides cover 68 codes across 5 brands. Each one explains the code in plain English, lists safe steps in order, and says clearly when to call a professional.
