Dryer Error Codes by Brand
Dryer codes usually point to airflow, heat or sensors. A blocked lint screen or exhaust vent is the most common cause, and it also raises the risk of fire, so it is always worth checking first.

First checks for any dryer code
- Note the exact code and your model number before anything else.
- Unplug the dryer or switch off its breaker for 10 minutes, then try again. Many codes are one-off glitches.
- Clean the lint screen and check that the outside vent flap opens when the dryer runs. Restricted airflow causes many dryer codes and is a fire risk.
- On a gas dryer, if you smell gas, leave the house and call your gas company from outside.
