About Frigidaire dryer error codes

Frigidaire is an American appliance brand owned by the Swedish Electrolux Group. Frigidaire codes are usually shown on the display panel, and some models report faults through blinking lights instead.

How to read Frigidaire dryer codes

Frigidaire electronic dryers use an E followed by two characters, and the second character can be a letter: E24, E4A, E5B, E8C, EAF. Read it carefully: on a segment display a B or C can look a lot like an 8.

Many of these codes are stored quietly instead of flashed on the display. AppliancePartsPros describes how to pull them up on Affinity dryers: with the dryer on and idle, hold Select and Cancel for 6 seconds until it beeps and shows rES, turn the cycle knob two turns counterclockwise so it stops at the third position from the top, then hold Select and Cancel again for 6 seconds. The display alternates Fld with a software number; two more counterclockwise turns bring up the stored code, and Options steps to the next one. Press Select to clear a code, then hold Select and Cancel for 6 seconds to leave.

Code meanings can shift between models, so match what you see against the tech sheet tucked inside your dryer's cabinet or the owner's manual. Dryers without a digital display flash their indicator lights to spell out the digits instead. For a board-related code, Sears PartsDirect's first step is to unplug the dryer for 5 minutes and then run a cycle.

Of the 8 codes on this page, 0 usually have a simple fix you can do yourself, and 4 usually need a technician. Each guide says which is which, so you don't pay for a service call you don't need, and you don't attempt a repair that isn't safe.
