Bosch Washer E:30 Error Code
Water level problem (read the number after the code). What it means, which models show it, and how to clear it, easiest fix first.
E:30 is a general message on newer Bosch models, and the number shown after it points to the cause. -10 points to the water supply or the water level sensor. -20 can mean too much detergent, water added to the drum during a cycle, or a faulty fill valve. -80 points to drainage, such as a kinked hose or a blocked pump.

Look at the second part of the display: E:30/-10 (often with a faucet icon), E:30/-20 or E:30/-80. Bosch says E:36/-10 needs the same drain checks as E:30/-80. Listed on Bosch's US support site; Bosch models sold in the UK and Europe may use a different code, so check your manual.
Difficulty
Start with the safe checks below; a worn part may need replacing.
How to fix Bosch E:30
For -10: check the water supply
Make sure the tap is fully open and the inlet hose is not kinked. Clean the inlet filters as described under E17. If the sensor is at fault, Bosch suggests waiting about 5 minutes, then turning the washer off and back on.
For -20: cut the detergent
Use less detergent, and do not add water to the drum while a cycle is running. To knock down suds, mix 1 tablespoon of fabric softener into about 2 cups (0.5 L) of water and pour it into compartment II.
For -80: check the drain
Unplug the washer first. If the floor around the outlet or cord is wet, switch off the washer's circuit breaker instead of touching the plug. Make sure the drain hose is not kinked, its highest point is no more than 39 in (1 m) above the floor, and there are no unsuitable hose extensions. Clean the drain pump as described under E18, then screw its cap fully back in with the handle vertical.
When to call a technician
If the code returns after these checks, especially -10 after a power reset or -20 with correct dosing, the water level sensor or filling valve may be faulty. Call a technician.
