LG Air Conditioner CH93 Error Code
Outdoor unit not powered or not responding. Here is what it means and how to clear it, easiest fix first.
The indoor and outdoor units are not communicating, often during the first test run after installation. LG notes that on some newer models (it says those made after 2021) each unit has its own power supply, so the code can simply mean the outdoor unit isn't getting power.
LG lists CH237 and CH247 as related codes meaning the outdoor unit isn't receiving power. CH66, CH90, CH91 and CH92 are separate installation and test-run codes that point to wiring or refrigerant-flow problems from installation and should go back to the installer. LG says its error-code guide covers all models, so the exact code and its meaning can differ on yours; check your owner's manual.
How to fix LG CH93
Check the outdoor unit's breaker
Make sure the breaker for the outdoor unit is on. If it trips again right away, leave it off and don't keep resetting it.
Check plug-in models
If your outdoor unit has a power cord, make sure it's pushed fully into a wall outlet. Don't run it from a power strip or share the outlet with other high-draw appliances.
Reset the power at the breaker
Switch off the breaker that feeds the air conditioner (some systems have separate breakers for the indoor and outdoor units, so switch off both). Wait about five minutes, switch the power back on and restart the unit to see if the code clears.
When to call a technician
If a breaker keeps tripping, or the code persists with power confirmed at both units, book a technician. If the system is newly installed, call the installer first.

Frequently asked questions
What does CH93 mean on a LG air conditioner?
The indoor and outdoor units are not communicating, often during the first test run after installation. LG notes that on some newer models (it says those made after 2021) each unit has its own power supply, so the code can simply mean the outdoor unit isn't getting power.
Can I fix LG CH93 myself?
Often. The first steps above are safe checks a homeowner can do. If they don't clear CH93, the cause is likely a worn part that needs replacing.
What if CH93 keeps coming back?
A code that returns after a reset and the checks above usually means a part is wearing out. Note when CH93 appears (which cycle, how often) and have your model number ready; it helps a technician bring the right part on the first visit.
