Samsung Dishwasher 7E / 7C Error Code

Waterwall reflector blocked or misplaced. Here is what it means and how to clear it, easiest fix first.

7E / 7C
Easy DIY fix

On Waterwall models, the reflector that slides along the back of the tub to direct water can't move properly. Usually something in the load is in its way, or the reflector isn't seated correctly.

Applies to Waterwall models. Samsung's US guide treats 7E and 7C as the same code. On UK models, 7C is listed as a spray bar that stops moving and needs support.

Safety first: unplug the dishwasher (or switch off its breaker) before touching filters, hoses or panels. If you smell burning or gas, or see water near the outlet, stop and call a professional.

How to fix Samsung 7E / 7C

  1. Clear the reflector's path

Switch off the breaker or unplug the dishwasher first. Pull out the bottom rack and look for anything long, such as a utensil or a pan handle, that sits in the reflector's path along the back wall. On a newly installed dishwasher, check the top of the guide rail for leftover packing tape and peel it off.

  2. Check the reflector's position

When fitted correctly, the Waterwall logo on the reflector points toward you and upward. If it is the wrong way round, take the vane off, reverse it, and press it back onto the gray carrier that rides on the rail.

  3. Power cycle the dishwasher

Switch the dishwasher off at its circuit breaker (or unplug it) and wait about 2 minutes. Restore power and start a fresh cycle. If the code clears and stays away, it was likely a one-time glitch.

When to call a technician

If the reflector moves freely and is fitted correctly but the code returns after a power cycle, request service. The reflector motor or drive may be faulty.
