Samsung Dishwasher DC Error Code
Door not closed properly. Here is what it means and how to clear it, easiest fix first.
The dishwasher can't confirm the door is shut, so it won't start or stops shortly after Start.
Listed on Samsung's UK guide.
How to fix Samsung DC
Clear anything blocking the door
Push back any utensil, plate, or rack that sticks out and stops the door from closing fully.
Clean the latch and close firmly
With the dishwasher off, wipe the latch area clean, then close the door until it clicks.
Power cycle the dishwasher
Switch the dishwasher off at its circuit breaker (or unplug it) and wait about 30 seconds. Restore power and start a fresh cycle. If the code clears and stays away, it was likely a one-time glitch.
When to call a technician
If the door closes cleanly but the code returns, request service. Never bypass or tape over the door latch or switch.

Frequently asked questions
What does DC mean on a Samsung dishwasher?
The dishwasher can't confirm the door is shut, so it won't start or stops shortly after Start.
Can I fix Samsung DC myself?
Usually, yes. Most DC problems clear with simple checks you can do at home. Start with the first step above: clear anything blocking the door.
What if DC keeps coming back?
A code that returns after a reset and the checks above usually means a part is wearing out. Note when DC appears (which cycle, how often) and have your model number ready; it helps a technician bring the right part on the first visit.
