Samsung Dishwasher LC / LE Error Code
Leak detected. Here is what it means and how to clear it, easiest fix first.
The leak sensor under the tub has found moisture. The dishwasher may keep running its drain pump and refuse to start a program until the base is dry. Leaking hoses, a slipped door seal, suds from the wrong detergent, or an unlevel dishwasher are common causes.
On Waterwall models, a blocked water reflector can also lead to LC / LE. Models without a display show it as blinking lights.
How to fix Samsung LC / LE
Cut the power
Switch off the dishwasher's breaker. If water has reached the floor near an outlet or cord, use the breaker and don't touch the plug. Close the supply valve if water is actively leaking.
Find the source
Check the supply hose along its length and at both ends, then the drain hose connection under the sink. Make sure the rubber door seal is sitting in its channel. If a disposal is connected, check its knockout plug was removed.
Check detergent and leveling
Use only dishwasher detergent and don't overfill the dispenser, since leftover detergent and suds keep the sensor wet. Check the dishwasher is level; a front that sits lower than the back is a common cause of door-area leaks.
Let it dry, then restore power
Leave the dishwasher off long enough for the base to dry, especially if it was recently moved. Then restore power and see whether the code comes back.
When to call a technician
If you find a leak you can't fix by tightening a connection, or the code returns with no visible leak, request service. Internal hoses, the tub, or the sensor may need attention.

Frequently asked questions
What does LC / LE mean on a Samsung dishwasher?
The leak sensor under the tub has found moisture. The dishwasher may keep running its drain pump and refuse to start a program until the base is dry. Leaking hoses, a slipped door seal, suds from the wrong detergent, or an unlevel dishwasher are common causes.
Can I fix Samsung LC / LE myself?
Often. The first steps above are safe checks a homeowner can do. If they don't clear LC / LE, the cause is likely a worn part that needs replacing.
What if LC / LE keeps coming back?
A code that returns after a reset and the checks above usually means a part is wearing out. Note when LC / LE appears (which cycle, how often) and have your model number ready; it helps a technician bring the right part on the first visit.
