How to fix LG FF
Warm the drum
Unplug the washer, take out the laundry and scoop out any standing water. Pour in hot tap water (around 120 to 140°F, never boiling), close the door or lid and give it 1 to 2 hours to thaw the pump area.
Thaw the supply hoses
Wrap the water supply hoses and faucets in towels soaked in hot tap water, replacing them as they cool.
Drain and retest
Plug the washer in and run a Drain or Spin Only cycle. If nothing drains, the ice hasn't fully melted, so wait longer. Then run a rinse and spin to confirm it works, and keep the room above freezing going forward.
When to call a technician
If water still won't flow after everything has thawed, a hose or valve may have cracked from the ice; have it inspected before running the washer again.

Frequently asked questions
What does FF mean on a LG washer?
The washer detected that water in the hoses, pump or valves has frozen, usually after the machine sat in an unheated garage or basement during cold weather.
Can I fix LG FF myself?
Usually, yes. Most FF problems clear with simple checks you can do at home. Start with the first step above: warm the drum.
What if FF keeps coming back?
A code that returns after a reset and the checks above usually means a part is wearing out. Note when FF appears (which cycle, how often) and have your model number ready; it helps a technician bring the right part on the first visit.
