Safety first: unplug the air conditioner (or switch off its breaker) before touching filters, hoses or panels. If you smell burning or gas, or see water near the outlet, stop and call a professional.

How to fix Midea PC 08

  1. Clean the indoor filters

Turn the unit off, remove the filters behind the front panel, and rinse them. Let them dry before putting them back.

  2. Clear the outdoor coil

Switch off power to the outdoor unit and remove leaves, cottonwood fluff, and dirt from the coil fins. A soft brush or a gentle hose rinse works.

  3. Run it and watch

Switch the breaker back on. If PC 08 trips again within the first hour, stop.

When to call a technician

If PC 08 keeps showing with clean filters and a clean coil, have a technician measure the compressor and fan motor current draw.
