Bosch Dishwasher E01-E05 Error Code
Control board or electronics fault. Here is what it means and how to clear it, easiest fix first.
The main control board has found a fault in one of its own circuits, such as a relay, the heat pump motor circuit, the heater electronics, or the wash arm diverter circuit. These are electronic faults rather than something you can clean or adjust.
Bosch US: E01 = heat pump motor circuit, E02 and E03 = relay fault, E04 = heater electronics, E05 = wash arm diverter circuit. Newer US models show E0100 (as E01), E0103 or E0107 (relay, as E02/E03), E0105 (as E04), and E0106 (as E05). E0110 is a separate newer code for a communication fault between the electronics, handled the same way. European guides list E01 to E05 as technical faults.
How to fix Bosch E01-E05
Reset the dishwasher at the breaker
Switch off the dishwasher's circuit breaker, wait about 30 seconds, then switch it back on. Run a short cycle with the dishwasher empty and watch whether the same code comes back. A code that clears and stays away was likely a one-time glitch.
Write down the code and model number
Note the exact code and find the model (E-Nr) and production (FD) numbers on the rating label, usually on the edge of the door. Bosch support or a technician will ask for both, because those numbers show which version of the code your machine uses.
When to call a technician
If the code comes back after a reset, or you see E04 / E0105 / E0110, contact Bosch support or a technician. Never open the control board yourself.

Frequently asked questions
What does E01-E05 mean on a Bosch dishwasher?
The main control board has found a fault in one of its own circuits, such as a relay, the heat pump motor circuit, the heater electronics, or the wash arm diverter circuit. These are electronic faults rather than something you can clean or adjust.
Can I fix Bosch E01-E05 myself?
Only the basic checks. You can safely try the steps above, but E01-E05 usually points to a part or fault that needs a technician.
What if E01-E05 keeps coming back?
A code that returns after a reset and the checks above usually means a part is wearing out. Note when E01-E05 appears (which cycle, how often) and have your model number ready; it helps a technician bring the right part on the first visit.
