Whirlpool Dryer F3E3 Error Code
Inlet temperature sensor (thermistor) fault on Whirlpool dryers.
WhirlpoolAll Whirlpool dryer codes
The inlet thermistor reads the heated air going into the drum. F3E3 means the control is getting an out-of-range value, which usually means a failed sensor or a wiring fault between it and the board.
Compatible models
2015 Whirlpool Cabrio and Maytag Centennial dryers; older Duets show F:24/F:25, where the inlet thermistor is part of the high-limit thermostat.
Also shown as
Older Duet dryers show F:24 or F:25 for an inlet thermistor failure; on those models the inlet thermistor is built into the high-limit thermostat, so the two are replaced together. Maytag Centennial dryers also use F3 E3.
Difficulty
Try the basic checks, but the usual fix is a technician's job.

How to fix Whirlpool F3E3
Reset the dryer
Switch off the breaker(s) for a minute, restore power and run a heated Timed Dry while you watch for the code.
Note your model number
If it returns, get the model number from the label inside the door frame and note whether the dryer is gas or electric. The sensor part differs between models.
When to call a technician
A returning F3E3 needs a technician to test the inlet thermistor and its wiring inside the cabinet. Never bypass a thermostat or sensor to get heat back. If a gas model ever smells of gas, leave right away and phone the gas company once you're outside.
